Victims & "Healing"

The more we know about the damage and trauma that is inflicted upon a victim of a crime or abuse, the more we know how we can treat it. Not "heal", which is why you see healing in quotation marks. You can never fully heal trauma, given what the word heal actually means. You can treat it. It's almost like a band-aid. Sometimes the band-aid will come off, it'll peel off a little bit, sometimes you have to change it. But if we know how to treat trauma better, that band-aid won't be coming off so often.
